In advance to exploring in a genre analysis, one must wonder what genre really means. Stated by Merriam-Webster’s dictionary, “a category of artistic, musical, or literary composition characterized by a particular style, form, or content.” There are thousands of different genres in literature alone ranging from self-help to action and adventure. The “truth” of a discourse community is found in the components in communication. In the business discourse community, truth is established through common public goals, communication, participatory mechanisms, and research. When an author wants to get their journal published to the journal, the authors have to look over the submission checklist which will include getting a peer review. The article goes through an online submission peer review. If the article does not fit the requirements the article does not get published. Having the article peer reviewed is one of the business discourse community’s truth because in any business field it is important to have valid and accurate information that is being shared through other people’s research within the community. This is the authors’ way of communication. Hultman and Hills cite articles within their article to provide accurate information that is needed to gain a further understanding about their examples and arguments that have to do with the entrepreneurial aspects in future marketing education and research. In text citations use the Harvard (name, date) citation method. The submission requirements list state the type of format used to present citations in is Harvard style. “References to other publications must be in Harvard style and carefully checked for completeness, accuracy and consistency.” (Journal of Research in Marketing and Entrepreneurship). The title only has the first letter in the title capitalized and every other letter is lowercase. The authors are listed by main contribution or in alphabetic order by last name. The abstract is a summary of the article including snippets of each section in the article, this more often than not determines if the whole article is worth reading. The abstract also includes the purpose or the final conclusion of the article. The introduction is where the who, what, when, where, and why questions are answered by the authors’. The last paragraph of the introduction states the purpose or the goals of the article. Hultman and Hills state their purpose “Following this line of thinking entrepreneurship can benefit marketing as part of a new stream of marketing thoughts – EM. But entrepreneurship can also be expected to influence parts of mainstream marketing. In this paper, the focus will mainly be on the influence created from EM on important broad aspects of marketing theories.” (121). The materials and methods sections are broken down into subsections that the authors use to describe the steps during their theory.
