Yuchan Hu In the present society, there are more and more same-sex couples. They encounter a lot of difficulties in society, and the adoption of children is one of the problems. In the film documentary which named Conceiving Family Stories of Gay and Lesbian Adoption, gay and lesbian couples have difficulties with law, society, and individuals, when they want to adopt children.
I do not like some of the content in the documentary. For example, some adoption agencies are reluctant to cooperate with same-sex couples. In addition, some children's biological parents' families refuse to allow same-sex couples to adopt their children. These elements reflect the social and general public prejudice against same-sex couples. This is because many people think that homosexuality in today's society suffer discrimination, so it will have a negative impact on the kids of same-sex parents’ families. Also, it is unfair to children. This bias and stereotypes lead to difficulties in same-sex couples' adoption. In fact, most of this worry is due to prejudice and discrimination. However, if people observe carefully, they can find that in the lives of heterosexual families also exist many tragedies in general. Whether the heterosexuality or homosexuality, as long as an individual, there are good and bad, responsible and irresponsible.
