NBA Point guard Stephen Curry’s contract is 5 years worth 201 million dollars. Does he deserve that money? Yes, reason why is he is a 2 time MVP of the league, 2 time NBA Champion. He has talent that no one has ever seen. He is called the greatest shooter to ever play the game. People say all he does is shoot a basketball how does he make so much. Lets explain the salaries of professional athletes. They just don’t shoot a basketball, run a football, or swing a bat. Each professional team has a salary that they need to go by. They can’t just go and spend all the money on one player. They need to divide it out for each player and see how much they are really worth. People say all the money's should go to the children education and to the teachers, doctors, firefighters, policeman, or the people who serve for the country. (Besides the people’s part in setting the salaries, owners of major sports teams are granted government funding that allows them to spend more on a field or court, and also to increase the salaries of their players) (Levray, 2013). They do so much that most people don’t even think about when they watch them. Fans say man they make it look so easy how do they do it. The secret is in the gym constantly putting your body through so much pain. (A typical pro athlete would train around 5-6 hours a day 6 days a week) (Suchde, 2014). Might not seem like a lot. But that is intense training non-stop sometime not having breaks for a while. Their warm up is like our moderate intense training. They work out so much not only with the weights but with all the running they do too. When you see them in games and they don’t even look tired. Think about how much they actually put in that gym. It takes dedicates to make sure the fans get what they pay for. (You have to be insane and neurologically damaged in your head to undergo some of the training regimes top level athletes put themselves through, day after day, week after week for an entire year.
