The NCAA made more money in 2014 than the NBA and NHL. But the college athletes saw none of that money. People who don't believe college athletes should be paid argue that they get to go to school for free. They are right, but is that really enough? College athletes are seen as professional athletes but they are not paid like them. Also, real college scholarships should comeback. Real college scholarships need to return in as if you are injured or turn out to be a bust the school cannot throw away your scholarship. Also will counter attack the question why college athletes should not be paid. College athletes are employees who are also going to school so they deserved to be paid while playing the game they love. This is relevant today because a college football team formed a union. The Northwestern Wildcats football formed a union because of the work ethic and everything they do are like work employees they stated (Sack). But unfortunately, it did not last. Problems with paying the players is they would be benefited and favored more than the “regular” students. Others have tried to bring new information to the NCAA that athletes are frustrated on not seeing a cent out of the billions the NCAA makes. New questions have arrived in the question if college athletes should be paid. “Real scholarships should make a comeback” (Sack.) In college, guaranteed scholarships need to make a return which if you are injured the university cannot lift the scholarship. Also you cannot transfer unless they lift the scholarship which university usually does. Even if you are a complete recruiting bust the university should not be able to lift your scholarship.
