Truth said in her speech (pg.178), “you need not be afraid to give us our rights for fear we will take too much,- for we can’t take more than our pint’ll hold.” One of the most discussed arguments that has been had till this day. As it has been asked how much can I bare? I can’t take to much more. These things are said by the black woman. When speaking about what can and can’t be handled is solely up to the woman. People try to argue that it is too much and this is not god’s way, but no one can say that but the women or god himself. So as women let us decide what we can handle or better yet let us show you. Sojourner Truth stated the main concept of women’s having rights on what they can by stating (pg. 180) “I have plowed, and planted, and gathered into barns, and no man could head me- and ar’nt I a woman?”. It puts everyone to a quiet stand because its telling them I can do just as much or more than you do so why can’t I have the same rights to do so? That’s a valid point that most people can’t answer. People are going to judge and talk about how you look and just how you are a woman but what they can’t take from you is that you are a woman and nothing will ever change
