If I were going to college next year, I would want all that the Monsters University video presented including being unique in my own way, to learn what I love, and to be noticed for having excellence for what I do. Also with the message coming from the dean, it makes Monsters University look successful since the dean is the highest person in the school and he’s making nothing but good comments about his school. I would even consider to go to Monsters University if it were a real school because it shows that the dean cooperates with his students to make them excellent. Despite it being a school of scare, it has a very good anecdote behind it that makes it sound like a real school.

Creationism was taught in our schools and institutions, but during this age that mentality took a pivotal shift. “The Help”, is a comedy-laced drama about racially segregated Jackson, Mississippi and the tensions between upper class white households and the black “help”. The movie follows the lives of Aibileen and Minny, two black maids who work for the Leefolts and Holbrooks, respectively. They are approached by Eugenia “Skeeter” Phelan, a journalist who is looking to write a book about the racism and discrimination the help face working in white households. The book showcases the blatant racism that is characteristic of the American south in the 1960’s, showing it from the perspective of not only the oppressed or the oppressor, but also of the liberal middle man. This movie can catch the attention of anyone willing to watch it, because although it is seemingly geared towards the “chick flick” crowd, “The Help” is a movie that can entertain and intrigue any audience.
Inception, while does not fully fit into the genre, (due to occasional crossover with fantasy) is very much a Science Fiction movie. Over the years there have been many controversies over whether or not Inception is a Science Fiction film, many argue that there aren’t enough actual Science involved in the movie to be a Science Fiction, while others argue that just because it doesn’t stick to the stereotypical subjects of Science Fiction in Hollywood does not make it not a Science Fiction. The literal definition for Science Fiction by Oxford Dictionaries is ‘Fiction based on imagined future scientific or technological advances and major social or environmental changes.’ Which, when put into context with the movie Inception itself, at first glance obviously refers to the dram technology. But after taking a closer look at everything, from the advanced technology, to the references such as the Penrose staircase, to the themes of the movie, it shows that nothing in Inception happened by coincidence or chance, everything that happened had a reason and their own science behind it.
One of the factors that define Inception are the conflicts that appear in the film. A major conflict is the battle between Cobb and society. In Inception, faceless corporations are trying to kill Cobb, while the U.S. government is trying to imprison him because of a crime that he didn’t commit. These are examples of the “person against society” conflict, which can be considered as a characteristic of science-fiction. On the other hand, there is another significant conflict; the struggle between Cobb and himself, because of the belief that Mal’s suicide was his fault.
