Andrew Jackson had a unique presidency; he was both viewed as a hero by his people and viewed as a villain by many. Today he is put on the face of the twenty-dollar bill, one question is left to ask, does he deserve to be put on the twenty-dollar bill or not? To understand this question, we need to back up and understand what makes one eligible to be in the U.S currency, and it's quite simply that they helped in some way shape or form in shaping the history of our country as we know it today. I believe that President Jackson deserves to be on the twenty-dollar bill because he was a man of the people and helped the U.S. develop a lot as a democracy. This supports my claim, because the truth is that Jackson was trying to be more democratic by including the common man more instead of just the rich and powerful, he felt the anger of the common people because he had come from there, so he decided to treat the common people with more equality instead of just being rich and powerful. This is important since Andrew Jackson finally started the process of democracy in our country, which as we know left a huge impact on us, as today we have a thriving democracy. While he vetoed the bank for its unjustness toward the common man, it caused a lot of upsets, such as people making cartoons with Jackson’s face over a king calling him tyrannical, and saying he is abusing his power as President, it wasn’t all sunshine and rainbows for Jackson, but he played a major role in building the early steps for our democracy today. Before Jackson was president of the United States, he had come from humble
