Over 100 million animals are used every year in the United States for cosmetic, and scientific testing. Animals are used to develop medical treatment, determine toxicity in medications, check the safety of products for human use, and other biomedical, commercial, and healthcare uses. Advocates of animal testing claim that it has implemented the development of numerous life-saving treatments for both humans and animals, also that there is no other alternative method for researching a complete living organism, and that strict regulations prevent the mistreatment of animals in laboratories.
