For this Annotated Bibliography, I have chosen to explore the deeper understanding of how the internet and technology affects lives in todays’ society. The audience for this Annotated Bibliography is my fellow classmates, my professor and people who are daily technology users. The article that I have chosen to use are ‘Internet Addiction Left My Brother Homeless” written by Winston Ross, “Stop Googling. Let’s Talk” written by Sherry Turkle, and “Impact of the Internet on Thinking” written by Alan Greenblatt. The purpose of this paper is to help inform people others on the affects that technology has on more than just commination skills. Effects can include physical health problems, mental health, and family relationships, and changes or behavior and thought process. Our previous writing topics have been about how internet and social media has had an impact on lives weather it being affective or damaging. Two of the articles that I read I found in our Core Readings. These two articles state evidence and claims on Internet and technology having more effects on lives. These two articles are “Stop Googling. Let’s Talk” written by Sherry Turkle and “Internet Addiction Left My Brother Homeless” written by Winston Ross. “Stop Googling. Let’s Talk” gives us the readers a closer look on how communication is lacking in family settings and how the younger generation wants to strive to make changes in their future families. “Internet Addiction Left My Brother Homeless” states facts of how the internet is affecting physical health, and mental health issues.
