Is Technology Dumbing Down Young Minds; Are We Damaging a Future Generation?
Franche01. "This Is Our World by Steve Cutts." YouTube. YouTube, 29 Apr. 2017. Web. 07 Nov. 2017.
Cutts video is a view of our world today through the eyes of a young child. It shows people walking along with their devices in hand, never looking up at the world around them. They don't see a sweet, small child who wants to be loved right at their feet. Towards the end of the video the little boy is pulling at the shirts of the people he loves and no one looks up. The final scene of the video shows everyone dropping off of a cliff as to emphasize …show more content…

If one really looks at it, parents are to blame. So many of us, myself included, spend far too much time on my PC for my job, my phone for my friends, and ignore those (my blood) that are right there next to me.
Damour, Lisa. "How Technology Changes Teen Romance." The New York Times. The New York Times, 21 Sept. 2017. Web. 07 Nov. 2017.
This article explains the part Technology plays in teen relationships and education. Education is in both a good way and in a negative way. "Teens Say They’re Addicted to Technology. Here’s How Parents Can Help." The Washington Post. WP Company, 03 May 2016. Web. 07 Nov. 2017.
This article is perfect in the sense that this is basically the bottom line. Technology’s impact on families’ time together, relationships, communication skills, and being able to pay attention and listen to actual people for an extended period of time. The article explains how we have become addicted to our devices. Not just kids, but adults as well. We answer that text right away, even if we are in the middle of something or a conversation, because it might be the office or someone from an organization we are in, or answer that e-mail we missed earlier in the day. It’s like we are all on call 24/7.
I chose this article because it hits home with my whole premise of this topic. Family time that my generation knew and grew up with seems to be turning into a thing of the past. This article mentions some helpful suggestions for parents and teens. Like I have been mentioning all along, my wish would be if someone was to read my paper, it would be a help to them and their family as we might both be going through the same
