Adolescent use of the internet should be monitored and controlled due to the fact that adolescents can do anything they want when browsing the internet with no registration. They can simply come across inappropriate things that parents would not want them to see. It is as simple as typing whatever they want to see and many websites will come up with vivid images. Another of many reasons would be cyber bullying. When adolescents use the internet they come more venerable to be involved in cyber bullying with the use of Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and many other social media websites. When using social media websites adolescents can say whatever they want, whatever they feel like. Saying whatever they want and feel like can hurt others, causing them pain and being part of cyber bullying. Adolescents can also create fake profiles just to hurt their friends, which at times it leads into suicide. Many parents have no idea what their children are doing on the computer. Another thing is internet stalking, sometimes kids can put too much information on their profile making it easy for internet stalkers to stalk them and get access to their phone number or even where they live. Sometimes kids fall for it and it can lead into kidnapping. Having someone make pretend they are someone else. Constantly talking to them, making them feel good, say what they want to hear, until they ask them to meet in person and they fall for it and there it goes.
