When asking his students when the United States had first settled, he was surprised at the number of students said 1620. No one can’t say that they’re eating turkey because of tradition if it wasn’t eaten until two centuries after Thanksgiving. If Americans want to use this reasoning, they should be eating bean soup, which is believed to be served at the actual first Thanksgiving in the late 1500s (Safran Foer 250). Furthermore, even if turkeys were eaten at the first Thanksgiving, despite not becoming a tradition for 200 years, the turkeys eaten then were nothing like the turkeys we eat now.

In 1621 the Indians taught the pilgrims how to plant and grow crops so they wouldn’t starve. After the growing came the harvesting, it was a success. They had finally done it and would not starve through the winter. The feast or thanksgiving is all about how the pilgrims had their first successful corn harvest and had plenty of food to gather and share. Thanksgiving Day is an annual national holiday marked by religious observances and a traditional meal including turkey and is held in the U.S. on the fourth Thursday in November. I personally think it's neat how people celebrate Thanksgiving. Some people celebrate it the same, while others celebrate it differently. Some things that most people do on Thanksgiving are having a big feast, watching football, eating turkey, and eating pumpkin pie.
There have been wars fought, lives lost, buildings destroyed, but also many lives destroyed with deep pain because of all the effects after World War I. War began on July 28,1914, when Austria Hungary declared war on Serbia. One simple action can have a thousand causes to it and destroy lives. Many had to live with the pain and still wonder what other causes spurred the war. In truth, I believe the main causes of the war were imperialism, militarism, nationalism and alliances. Imperialism is said to be a system where a powerful nation rules and exploits one or more colonies.
