Gun Rights in America The Second Amendment of the Bill of Rights grants Americans the right to bear arms. Opinions of this vary, but I believe the safety of ourselves and posterity are above all. Criminals throughout the US take advantage of this privilege and use weapons for violence and evil purposes that should be unspeakable to our world, such as murder, robbery, and torture. Owning rifles or pistols ourselves is the only way to counter these treacheries.
For many years, Romans have had societal advancements that have impacted today's people. What advances has Roman made for the healthcare system? Roman scientists have always been peculiar subjects. All from their Roman medical department from cures such as crocodile meat, sea foam, and soaked chameleons to heal effortless ailments. We will not be silenced “A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed.” These 27 words have meant a lot in the news lately. You see Facebook posts, tweet after tweet about this. I am not here to argue with you, but I feel like only one side of this topic is being discussed.
Think of this, twenty years in our future it’s a peaceful place guns have stopped being produced and nobody owns a single gun. Yes guns and gun licenses are a thing of the past. It has been so peaceful since firearms productions were stopped that even the police officers don’t need handguns. Ya life seems nice, no more worries about school shootings or any other kind. The air around the nation seems lighter.
A weapon in the wrongs hands is the maximum danger humanity can face. Nowadays, violence and delinquency in society are viewed as the maximum problem solver. Humanity is full of chaos; hate and envy seize our souls. Guns are the ultimate security for some citizens but for others, these add to a feeling of defenselessness. Throughout history, any topic related to guns means a plethora of problems.
There just might be an opportunity to solve the problem of mass murders caused by disturbed individuals with guns. If we can get the politicians to stop talking long enough to listen. They may realize they are both wrong on the issue of gun control. Note how carefully I chose my words there. Guns do not kill people.
Recently, a miserable mass-shooting incident in Las Vegas has caused 58 deaths and approximately 500 injuries which was the fatalist gun-related incident in history of the United States (CBS NEWS, 2017). Besides, the number of gun violence incidents has increased from 51,882 in 2014 to 58,784 in 2016 (Gun Violence Archive, 2017). The stunning incident and the upsurge in gun violence in the recent years provoke much public debate about whether guns should be ban completely in the United States. Waldman (2017), a senior writer of The American Prospect Magazine and a blogger of The Washington Post, suggested only allowing a small group of people who have special need to own their private gun like in other Asian countries in order to stop heavy casualties caused by guns every year. Maltz Bovy (2015), the author of ‘’The Perils of Privilege’’, agreed to ban guns completely with a view to forbid guns from entering the realm of possibility.
Gun Violence In America Gun violence in america accounted for 33,636 deaths in 2015 alone and that number is only rising. If every american was able to obtain a firearm imagine what the numbers of gun related deaths. Even gun related injuries caused many more hospital visits in america what many other common incidents. That is why america needs to implement tighter gun laws to reduce the amount of gun violence in America. Without this we will continue to see shooting, gun death, gun injuries resulting in more and more gun related violence.
Gun control has been a heated debate for several decades, recently, the discussion surrounding this matter has intensified. The argument seems to be divided into liberal and conservative views, thoughts, and values. A majority of liberals desire stricter gun laws, required mental health check-ups, and longer waiting periods when it comes to purchasing a gun. However, the general census among the Republicans is less governmental interference because they feel that there is already too much governmental control involved. The Republican Party often does not want stricter gun laws because the problem at hand is not the gun itself, but the individual wielding the gun.
Looking at the issue of gun rights, I am a firm believer that this right should strictly be a state issue. There are various factors that can play a great role in the culture of each state. Things such as population density, geography, morality, childhood, political status, and religion impact states and the way they function. If each state shared the same law related to gun rights, it would ultimately defeat the goal of allowing each state to create laws based on their culture, and would most likely become a federal law, limiting the right of some. Being born and raised in Wyoming, I see no issues with all citizens having the right to bear arms.
“Those who make the peaceful revolution impossible make the violent revolution inevitable.” -John F. Kennedy. Peace is a national concept that many of the population of the world want and/or need. However, with lightness, there is always a darkness to match it, more specifically, dealing with guns. Gun control is enforced strongly to keep many countries safe.
Gun laws This topic brings conflicts among us people in the United States. It’s been an issue for awhile now and it’s going to be an issue on into the future. Some people feel like it is their right to bear arms and have a deadly weapon for protection.
Gun Control On February 14, 2018 seventeen innocent people were shot and killed at a school in Parkland Florida. The shooter being over the age of eighteen, legally purchased the gun that caused this massacre, back in February of 2017. The federal law states, anyone with a clean criminal record over the age of eighteen can legally purchase a gun. This brings people to wonder, is our gun control enough?
Gun Control Gun control has become a polarizing and controversial issue around the globe. There have been many reported issues of mass shootings both in schools and in the public, making it a hot button issue. Proponents argue that, if the government strictly controls the ownership of guns, such tragedies can be prevented. Most Americans have an obsession with guns because the law allows them to do so. Therefore, they are always ready to scoff at anyone trying to control gun ownership.
