Should stricter gun control laws be placed on the continent of United States? Lately that’s been the talk of the century. Due to recent school shootings such as sandy hook and many others, since 2011, there have been at least 163 school shootings in America. All shootings happening because of firearms that so easy to acquire these days. According to the congress, they are pushing for tougher back ground checks. In my opinion there should be a whole lot more restrictions on guns and it should become more difficult to purchase a fire arm in any state. Along with that one should not be allowed to carry said firearm to another state. I have three reasons why there should be stricter laws. Having gun in the house outs your children at risk. Kids have curious minds that can lead to accidentally hurting someone. Let’s not forget some teens can take an argument made at school with teachers and students the wrong way, and there easy access to firearm in the household many things can go wrong. Schools believe guns in America are creating a public crisis that is hurting more children than protecting, citing statistics that state nearly eight American children are shot, killed or injured every day. Stronger laws are the answer to protecting children. Background checks will help keep guns out of the hands of people who should not have them. Background checks help prevent criminals, domestic abusers, and seriously mentally ill people from buying guns. Having well-regulated checks and learning about the persons past helps gun sellers to know if the person buying is a potential killer. Laws requiring background checks have prevented the purchase of guns by 3 million people who should not have even be allowed to look at
