Mr. Karwatsky Freshman Seminar, Per. 1 23 October 2014 Marijuana’s legalization is a very hot topic in today’s world. The controversy over letting this drug be legalized or still outlawed is pretty high for both sides of the argument. It has been legalized in other states strictly for medical use on terminally ill patients who have cancer or other diseases. We should actually legalize marijuana because it really does a lot of good for people around the country instead of bad things people say it does. A number of people agree that it does help those who are in critical condition, but other disagree and say it’s a harmful drug and it needs to stay illegal. It is a very commonly known industry as there are multiple farms that legally grow the plant so it can be used by people and it can be bought, but there are a large amount of people who illegally grow marijuana around the world for their own benefit and income. These places are often raided by cops and shutdown, and their products are taken by the police to be used as evidence of the raid and sentence the people who grew it to jail. This is where teenagers get their marijuana from their dealers, so these pose threats to minors and others in a community.
