Medicinal Marijuana: The Blunt Truth

Is weed the Messiah, or the Azrael, of the medical community? Medicinal marijuana has been a big controversial issue in the United States. Medicinal marijuana has been proven to have limitless uses around the world. Not only is it used in medicine it is also used in paper, and clothing. I strongly believe marijuana does have a healing effect on illnesses such as pain, seizures, cancer, and post-traumatic stress disorder. It has been recorded and shown that seventy-six percent of physicians surveyed said they approve the use of medicinal marijuana, for pain caused by breast cancer (Gupta). In 1943, marijuana was a part of United States drug pharmacopeia (Gupta). It was prescribed for neuropathic pain many times. I mean how can we really frown on something that has helped so many people?

I can say if marijuana can ease the pain of illnesses such as cancer, neuropathy and post-traumatic stress disorder. Than the doctors need to write out these prescriptions. I once heard a story of a three-year-old girl. Who was having three hundred seizures a week and the only thing that helped her was the medicinal marijuana. She deserves to get as much as she needs. In this world, there are thousands of people struggling with pain and illnesses and all it would take is the right to pick up medicinal marijuana legally. It has also been recorded that people with post-traumatic stress disorder, have high levels of anxiety which can be alleviated by using medicinal marijuana. A human study, of ten HIV-positive marijuana smokers, people who smoked marijuana ate better, slept better, had a better mood, and saw less neuropathic pain.
