Argumentative Essay Lamar Community College The military diet is a good way to lose weight because it only takes seven days to complete, it is easy to obtain the food, and you will lose ten pounds. Many people who try this diet want to lose weight quickly in a short amount of time. The way that the diet works is that a person consumes 1,400 to about 1,100 calories the first three days of the diet, while the remaining four days they can almost eat whatever they want if it stays within a calorie limit of 1,500 per day. Most diets take a long time to complete or are life changing diets that are difficult for many people to sustain, especially if they have never been on a diet before. Many say that they used the military diet and regular exercise to get into shape for a special event or just because they want to feel good about themselves. Also, the fact that this diet is so short encourages people to fulfill the whole week without “messing up”. Someone who is trying this diet should not deter from it and should complete it with determination. The reason why many people do not complete their diets is because they are not strict with themselves and do not want to reach their goal, or they do not like the way the diet is set up and would like to try something else that would be better for them and their bodies. The two keys for someone to complete a diet successfully is to start one that is attainable and to pick something that will not damage their body. The person who is going on a diet should also feel comfortable with themselves and should not be going on a diet so that they will look a certain way.
