Year-round school
Kids stagger into class daily, bags under their eyes and wanting to go home already. This is much too familiar everyone can relate to that. But imagine doing that every day of the year. “'Teachers and Principals have no idea how much stress, anxiety, and depression school can cause”...(Tangirala). School has massive effects on mental health. Studies have proven that school is linked to most teenagers' mental illnesses like stress, anxiety, and depression. Therefore students need summer to recover their mental health! Most students have had stress from school whether it was too much homework or too much pressure from peers and teachers. And become closer to family because family comes first. “Most kids go on family trips in the summer which is primary bonding time”. (Reed) If they didn't have the time to do that, families wouldn't be as close to each other and that could cause problems. Also, most kids learn their basic life skills in the summer like getting a job that teaches them how to be a hard workers, And learning how to clean their houses.
Even though all-year school is bad it has some benefits. Like for kids in rougher homes. They don't have to be home as often and they are at a safe school. “There are more benefits like no summer memory loss, higher academic achievements, and better patience”. (“Is year-round school really a good idea?”) But even though there are many benefits of not having year-round school having summer has just risen higher than not having summer.
Once again, year-round school is not helpful to the students. Kids need good mental health they should be here. They also need life skills. Parents can't just leave them to fend for themselves. Finally, year-round school would be harmful to kids around the
