Inefficiency in Operating Procedure

The purpose of this report is to gain insight on the inefficacy problem that is causing the Florida Atlantic Athletic Academic Center time, money, and resources. I am writing to discuss the symptoms and effects of the problem, as well as suggest three possible alternatives. I will present three valuable alternatives to the problem, which are reorganization in all areas, hiring an outside consultant, and adding additional staff.

Problem Statement
The FAU Athletic Academic Center is experiencing an inefficacy problem due to a lack of standard operating procedures. Inefficacy at work has caused low productivity, duplications of work, confusion on different methods, and unpaid overtime. The effects of inefficient …show more content…

The purpose of hiring more staff employees is to increase productivity, while allowing the current workers to focus their talents and knowledge specifically for their students.
Advantages. The main advantage of adding more employees to the staff is less stress on the current staff and more productivity. According to an article in CBSN, Ken Matos wrote, extensive work, meaning overtime and long work hours, have a negative effect on both mental and physical health. Negative effects lead to fatigue that limits the cognitive and bodily resources people have to put towards their work (Sullivan & Matos, 2015). More staff leads to less stress and more quality work being produced.
Disadvantages. The disadvantage of adding more staff is time constraints for training. Patricia Schaefer indicates each time a new employee is hired a certain amount of training is required in order for them to perform their assigned tasks to suit the specific needs of that company (Schaefer, 2017).
