Interview Date/Time • Austin Workman, Success Beyond Comfort Inc., CEO, has been with the company for a year and a half, has been the CEO for six months, the interview took place on 4/16/17 at 6:30 pm. What training, degree, or experience was required for your position? • 6 month training period, 3+ years in sales experience was required to apply for his position, and no degree is required. Describe a typical day in your position? How about a typical week? • Says that his day always starts the night before the work day. He prepares daily impact reports for his employees. Describe some of the ways your profession or industry is changing or evolving. How do these changes affect your job? • Unfortunately, things like Netflix and Hulu are severely hurting the cable industry and Austin’s job as well. • Due to many people wanting to pass much less money without ads Austin’s sales and income have been down by a lot lately. • Austin is quite worried that if the cable industry does not do something soon that his income is going be more and more hurt as time goes on. What does the career path look like in your profession/industry? How much turnover does your company have and how does that relate to the industry? • Austin started out as a normal sales representative and worked his way up to the owner position which means he has several people now working for him. If he were to continually train effective workers and obtain much more sales he could be promoted to promoting manager, regional manager, national manager, and then director. • Austin says that the turnover rate is 70% of employees quitting in 1 …show more content…

He wants to be his own boss, make his own hours, and make his own dream come true. • Austin stated that he always had the mind of an entrepreneur. • Austin stated that he had countless bad experiences with his bosses and managers. He said that knew he could do a better job then they could themselves. Why did you choose to start your career with Directv instead of other sales jobs? • He said that at the time he was actually extremely poor because he had just moved to Reno. He was looking for any job that he could possibly find. • After getting the job Austin saw that he was having a lot of success with selling Directv and was starting to make tons of money. • Austin said that what truly made him stay was that he learned of the room to progress further in the career. He said that with each sale he was closer and closer to double his income (which he eventually did when he become the CEO). What advice do you have for someone who is just beginning a career in this profession? • Failing and failure are two completely different things. Everyone fails, but a failure is someone that fails and stops trying. If you want to be successful in this industry you have to be ready to fail, but not ready to give
