Babies around the world are raised in varying ways. They may not be kept as clean or washed in a bathtub, but they are all cared for greatly. In some countries the child may ride in a stroller to experience the world, while in another country they may be left to explore the world on their own. Parenting styles differ based on the atmosphere, daily challenges, and the resources that a parent has. In Japan I made many observations while watching the video. The babies are taken outside a lot. The parents may carry them in a seat that goes on their backs or let the child walk around and explore. Another observation I made was that they have beds that shake the baby if they are crying. In both the United States and Namibia parents are concerned about making sure their child has food and is healthy. However, the mothers in Namibia don’t have the resources that mothers in the United States. In Namibia the mothers have to worry about getting food for their child and making sure that they have food, so they can produce milk for their child. In contrast, in the United States the mothers don’t have to worry about getting food. There are multiple different options for the babies, like formula. The mothers are not concerned with getting food for themselves, because they are surrounded by it. The comparison between the United States and Japan isn’t as extreme with the differences as Namibia. In both Japan and the United States the parents don’t have to worry about their child receiving food. They know that they can go out and get food for themselves and the baby at any time. However, in Japan the parents seemed to take the children out more to experience the world. They would take them in strollers for rides and let them walk around. Parents in Japan seemed concerned with teaching their children about things around them and the wonders of the world. While, people in the United States took their children out, they didn’t seem as focused on this aspect of learning. They would take the children on bike rides and to the grocery store, but they wouldn’t let the child explore the world for themselves. The final comparison is between Mongolia and the United States. Both the United States and Mongolia are worried about keeping their child safe and allowing them to learn new things. However in Mongolia they put their children in fields and with the animals to learn. Also, they put their child on the back of a motorcycle, which in the United States is absurd. In the United States parents give their children toys or take them out to places
