Barack Obama was born on August 4, 1961. He was born in the United States, but his ancestral home is Kenya. “He graduated from Columbia University in New York in 1983. After graduating, he had a few different jobs including working at the Developing Communities Project in Chicago, Illinois. He soon decided he wanted to become a lawyer and he entered Harvard Law School. Upon graduating in 1991, he began practicing law.” (ducksters.com). Later, he was elected as the first African American President in the USA in 2008. Barack Obama is the current American President who has accomplished a lot for America.
On Oct 9, 2009, after just eight and a half months at the White House, Barack Obama was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize. There are three big reasons for his awarding. First, he enhanced international diplomacy. He resumed the diplomatic relations with Cuba. Second, he rejoined the effort to promote nuclear disarmament, such as North Korea and Iran. This action guaranteed the safety of Asia. Third, he announced to withdraw troops from Iraq.
