Barack Obama winning presidency impacted America socially, economically, and politically in many different ways. His presidency made history, he was the first ever African American president. He changed the economy for the better, and he did what he could to give back to the community and less fortunate. Barack Obama winning presidency majorly affected the U.S socially, economically, and politically. Economically, Barack Obama changed America into what it is today. The economy gained a net 11.6 million jobs. This is tremendous for the U.S because we have had many struggles with unemployment dating all the way back to the great depression. For starters, he tried his best to put an end to ISIS. ISIS is a big problem in the United States everyone is scared of another terrorist attack. He tried to put an end to them by ordering the capture and killing of Osama Bin Laden. He also began the drawdown of troops in Afghanistan, which took a lot of guts to do. Barack Obama also played a big role in negotiating the landmark Iran Nuclear Deal. However, while Barack Obama did a lot to help the United States politically, he made some mistakes and was blamed for multiple problems. Many say Barack Obama didn’t try very hard to negotiate terms with Iraqi prime minister Nouri al-Maliki. However advances were risky, Barack Obama didn’t want to pursue too hard and upset them. Many people still argue that if he had that United States forces could have cut ISIS numbers and stopped many tragedies before they came. “A military presence gives the United States leverage to shape political outcomes.” - Reihan Salam. He is making a pretty valid argument to Barack Obama’s mistake to ease off of Iraq.
