Gentlemen of the jury, thank you for listening so intently to this trial. Baumer is guilty of purposefully killing Mr. Slade. This criminal purposefully ordered wood alcohol, knowing that Mr. Slade will drink it and eventually die. Nevertheless, this man should go to jail for what he did. The evidence shows that Baumer had killed Mr. Slade because of the many reasons presented in this case. After Mr. Slade and Baumer’s disagreement, Mr. Al remembers saying to Baumer,” He can’t even read.” Knowing that Slade can’t read, Baumer bought the wood alcohol. Therefore, Baumer knows that Slade would steal this alcohol and drink it. Another reason is that Mr. Slade might have frozen to death. Slade probably did not freeze. Baumer remembers saying,”’Not Slade,’Mr. Bauer said,’ He knows too much to freeze.’” So, Slade did not freeze because he knows how to survive in the cold. Last but not least, Baumer did not force Slade to drink the wood alcohol. Even though Baumer was not sitting right next to Slade, Baumer knew that Slade would drink the poison. This goes back to my first argument when Baumer says,”He can’t even read.” Baumer knew that because Slade would steal the alcohol and not read the label, Slade would drink the poison. This makes Slade
