In the article, “Anthropology Inc.”, Graeme Wood describes how anthropologists study a specific group of people, and how anthropologist practice research. When I was reading the article, the first example was the study of “Corrida de lesbianas” in home parties. Their goal was to write an ethnographic survey of drinking parties. The anthropologist approached to the study of this people by focusing on what, when, and how people drank Vodka.
“It’s not the destination that matters. It’s the change of scene.” (Brian Eno) This quote by Brian Eno praising the value of the outside world and his surroundings. One career that is worth pursuing is a CSI agent/ Forensic science technician.
Forensic Science is the career field I am interested in. I would enjoy being a forensic science technician because of my interest in mysteries and figuring things out. This career choice is the right choice for me because I would only need a Bachelor’s degree, it would be work I enjoy doing, and I would make an exceptional salary. Forensic science technicians aid investigations by collecting and testing evidence. Many technicians spend time either in a laboratory or on the field in crime scene investigation.

My Education goals are why I chose APUS, When I graduated from high school in 2014 I started my ROP Dental Assisting program to become a Certified Dental assistant in the state of California so that I could get my foot in the door in Dentistry to one day become a Dental Hygienist. But now here I am two years later working as a full time dental assistant and I have no passion or desire in pursuing in becoming a Hygienist because its not something I feel I could really be happy with and do for the rest of my life. My real passion has always been with children I have always loved working with children weather it was when I was working at a daycare in high school or when I was a cheerleading coach for young girls between the ages of 4-9, I have
Throughout life, many are faced with obstacles. These obstacles can either set them further in society and help them reach their aspirations, or those challenges can cause one to refrain from reaching their full potential. Which in retrospect makes them settle for less than what they can fully achieve. The difference in those two paths are work ethic; if one works hard and is honest and fair they can truly achieve greatness, while the other simply settles for the easier option which in the long run may cause them more struggle later in life. Gerald Sheehy lived a life that was positively impacted by his hard work in forensic science advancements in the early stages of the FBI; he got to travel around the country and teach hundreds of people

In high school, the uttermost important goal for me is to attend college and pursuing my dream of studying forensics, and eventually taking that success and finding a way to give back to the community and people that raised me. The CBC Spouses Education Scholarship will help me acquire the funds to achieve my goal in the long run. I have always been determined and an all round optimist. However, when I entered high school I found out that we, as in my mother and I, do not possess the kind of financial stability that it takes to acquire the learning that I desired. If I cannot work through college and cannot afford my books, unfortunately, all of my hard work will go down the drain.
My short term goals consist of obtaining an associate's in Health Science, I feel that if I'm able to get that out of the way first, ill have more time to focus on my lesser qualities. Another short term goal is to become a basic EMT. I like helping people, and I like testing myself with challenges and I know that this job will do that for me. My long term goal is to become a paramedic.
It is my Senior year, and I have accomplished a few great things so far. I have been in Honors math courses since Freshman year; I took an AP course and I got a three on the exam, which will be enough to earn college credits at some colleges I am looking at. I also got invited to National Honor Society last year, and I am in it this year as well. I have a lot of things I want to accomplish before the end of my last year at Old Orchard Beach High School and hopefully during this quarter.
that allowed for “one police offer who shall be a woman”. She was to handle juvenile and female cases and to investigate what led them to take part in crimes (Horne, Peter). Regardless of which woman is truly considered to be the “first” female police officer, both paved the road. They proved how important it is for women to be part of the law.
“Forensic anthropologist usually works in three broad categories,” said Texas State professor Jerry Melbye.” A Forensic Anthropologist help examine a human skeletal or decomposed remains in a legal setting to establish the identity of an unknown individual and to help determine the cause of death. A Forensic Anthropology work to find the individual that was murdered or was a homicide. They need to find the biological profile of that person.
I struggled with the challenge of making time for both schooling and soccer, but I always find time for things I enjoy. Attaining a Master of Arts in Forensic Psychology is my next challenge in my life which will allow me to attain another passion of mine, a career as a forensic analyst.
Forensic anthropology is the branch of anthropology which deals with the recovery of remains as well as the identification of skeletal remains which involve detail knowledge of osteology (skeletal anatomy and biology). In other words, forensic anthropology is the application of anthropological knowledge and techniques in the identification of human remains in medico-legal and humanitarian context. Forensic anthropology includes the identification of skeletal, decomposed or unidentified human remains. Forensic anthropology may also help determine the age, sex, stature and unique features of deceased from their remains. Personal identification is one of the main aspects of medico-legal and criminal investigations.
Crime has been at its highest this year. Forensic science has played a major part in investigating crimes and searching for evidence that is not seen by the naked eye(Dillon). The field of forensics is continually growing, causes of death have become more interesting, autopsies are more critical, and the salary is appreciable(Gewin). Since there are only 18 forensic science undergraduate programs in the US that have been authorized by the American Academy of Forensic Science, my prospective college choices are limited. After tackling the time it will take to earn my bachelors in forensics(4 years), then finish medical school and four years of residency, it will eventually all be worth the wait.
