Before majoring in Health Sciences, I was previously a Nursing Major up until the third quarter. The nursing professors, particularly my third quarter clinical lab instructor, have not only imparted essential knowledge but have also inspired me to pursue my passion for healthcare despite finding my calling in a different Healthcare profession throughout my academic journey over time. These exceptional individuals have consistently encouraged me to think critically, ask questions, and explore new ideas. By fostering an environment that values intellectual curiosity, they have nurtured my creativity and instilled in me a genuine love for learning. Furthermore, their unwavering support has empowered me to pursue my passions and set ambitious goals, ultimately shaping my professional
The career I am going to pursue will be a Certified Nurse Anesthetist. Nevertheless, I applied to the University of Texas at Arlington’s nursing program and was accepted in Fall 2014. That opened the doors to countless opportunities for me to find my spark. Through my lectures and clinical rotations, I was taught that being a nurse meant ensuring the safety of every patient and working arduously to maintain their quality of life. With that principle in mind, I practiced my skill as a nursing student on every unit that I was assigned to.
Personal Essay Statement As a Haitian immigrant in America, no one I knew had a doctorate. The nursing profession resonates with me due to my compassion and appetite for professional development. I discovered the flexibility of the nursing career path as a young adult. One of these paths is to work as a certified registered nurse anesthetist (CRNA). I became intrigued by this career path.
By the time junior year came around I knew I wanted to be a Neonatologist, which ironically like housewifery is a woman dominated field. There was a calm before the storm, the day 's atmosphere was very uplifting, the sun was shining brightly while the wind counteracted with a March breeze. I came home from a long day of school and dove straight to bed for my daily ritual of an after school nap. I somehow sensed something was off, call it a sixth sense or a touch from God, but my brain told me something was wrong. My sister broke the news to me, she awoke me with the abrupt strength of a football player “Goodness, wake up Ashley died, wake up.”
Becoming an Anesthesia Assistant would allow me to work as a healthcare professional, help people in their time of need, and have an increasingly dynamic career. I know that my attention to detail, creativity, and critical thinking capacity developed over years working in the medical field make me an ideal candidate for the Master’s of Medical Science in Anesthesiologist Assistant program at Emory University. As my life progresses, I have created a desire for a profession that offers a varied assortment of opportunities. I find it gratifying to have a career that is not only rewarding for caring for surgical patients, but also the attraction of a career that is a life long learning process. The attractiveness of a career with different possibilities and education expansion is energizing and motivational.
"Many people want success, but are unwilling to do what has to be done to be successful. It's all about commitment. " reveals Jenny Craig. There has been a plethora of individuals who wish to succeed in the future but do not possess the mental adroitness in order to achieve their goals in being successful. When these individuals are in the face of obstacles they will fall weak and eventually decide to give up on their goal.
My Intent to Be a Nurse Practitioner Coming from a third world country where there aren’t many opportunities for work and funding for education, proceding to nursing school was a grand opportunity. The privilege to attend a government subsidized school where top students in the region compete to get into the program that allowed only 60 students per year was indeed a blessing. As clinical rotations began, what was once considered a mere opportunity evolved into a true passion for caring as I truly love and enjoy nursing and helping people.

Henry Ford once said, “Whether you think you can or you think you can’t, you’re right.” What this means to me is that everyone has the potential to do anything they want; however, if they do not have the confidence and the drive to go for their dreams, they will not accomplish anything. As a second-semester sophomore in high school, it may seem that I have plenty of time to decide what I want to do with my life, but that is not exactly the case. With the SAT test coming up in about a year and college applications beginning not long after that, now is the perfect time to start planning for my future. My plan for after high school is to attend college and pursue a degree in anesthesiology.

Throughout my high school career, I extended every effort to reach the point when I was ready to apply for college. I planned for over a year so that I could to move into my own apartment by my eighteenth birthday and ensure stability for myself. I committed myself to my school work, sometimes staying up past midnight to finish assignments. After school, I went to my job and put in everything I had left in order to support myself and provide for a better future. I’ve given every ounce of effort that I have trying to reach this point, and I know that I deserve to be admitted.
Ever since then, I knew I wanted to provide patients that go through such harsh medical and surgery procedures to not feel pain and most importantly to provide comfort. I know I am still at a young age, only a freshman in high school, where my decision regarding my future career might change one day, but I believe my mind and heart are more than
I was just this fresh-faced seventeen-year-old girl, trying to get one step closer to my dreams, but at the same time, that one step felt so daunting in those moments. All I had to do was muster up the courage to open the door, walk in, and start absorbing everything I possibly could about the medical
In the meantime, while I was working as a certified nurse assistant, I triggered the call bell for assistance, but nobody came to my aide, therefore I decided to change the bed myself, on a fully dependent patient. Shortly thereafter, I realized an excruciating pain in my shoulder, I had torn my rotator cuff. This unfortunate event changed my entire career path, no nursing school for me. Nothing was going to prevent me from progressing my education, I may not have gone to nursing school, but I went back to business school. In this case, I was still trying to guarantee a better future, a better career, and one that I could do without being in constant
