Anesthesiology is not as hard as it seems like; anesthesiology is the study of anesthesia. A physician anesthesiologist are the most qualified to make anesthesia medical decisions. What exactly does that mean? A physician anesthesiologists are predominantly they are responsible for the safety and well-being of patients before, during and after surgery. The need for anesthesia is so that the patient can undergo controlled unconsciousness called “general anesthesia”, which is the provisional “regional anesthetics” where only a portion of the patients body goes numb during surgery so no pain or anxiety is felt. After graduating high school, students should attend a four-year university. Students wanting to continue on into medical school need to keep in mind that the major taken in college is not necessarily taken into consideration when applying. Undergraduates interested in a medical career should plan on a pre-med course of study. Classes to take in college; calculus, general chemistry, organic chemistry, biology and physics. After four-years of college and receiving a bachelors degree the next step into becoming a physician anesthesiologist is to continue onto medical school. Medical school will take another four years of schooling which will open the eyes of future physician anesthesiologists. Students considering enrollment in a medical school are often required to take the Medical College Admission Test (MCAT), as part of their admission process. Medical school is specifically designed to open up the certain medical field in which they choose to take and show the different varieties in one field.
