In some cases, this could be harmful for students that need time away from school to regain focus from the previous school year. Although, most instructors tend to be rushed throughout the year due to having to re-teach materials that were taught the year prior. The students and teachers would benefit from the continuous information that will be taught during the school year. This idea if year-round education could be utilized by the schools that are willing to make use of the idea. Year-round education has deemed its itself more beneficial to students and their education. It gives the students less time to forget what has been taught from the previous year and it allows students who are falling behind a chance to catch up on his or her work. By hosting year-round school, the students who are behind will have more time to work on the subjects that he or she is having issues with. As stated earlier, by having school through the year with evenly distributed breaks the students would be able to have more chances to go on family excursions through the year. Instead of having one long break in the middle of the year and several smaller breaks, the schedule would be set up to help the students retain more information that was taught. It is known that some countries use a year-round school system and by viewing the performance level of those students it is obvious that the year-round education could possibly benefit the students in the United States.However, by hosting year-round school the students would no longer be able to benefit from summer activities such as summer camps, family trips, and summer jobs. Summer is not only meant for family time, and fun, but also, the summer break is a time for students to learn work ethic though summer time jobs. This is a valuable skill that is learned outside of the classroom. Although there are many benefits to attending school year-round there still needs to be a compromise for those who still enjoy the extended summer break.To implement the idea of year-round school a vote could be taken statewide to determine which states would take part of year-round school. This would include how the schedule will be determined on how the breaks would be separated through the year equaling to the same amount of time as the summer break. This would give an option to the state, whether to convert to the year-round school calendar or to continue with the current school calendar year. By the implementation of year-round school, the performance of the students would most likely increase because of the lack of the long summer break separating the school years. However, by hosting year-round school it could be detrimental to the student’s summer time social life. Although it may rid of the extended summer break the amount of vacation days will be equivalent to the extended break just placed through the year in a more efficient way of learning for the students to retain the information taught.
