Violet, Klaus, and Sunny Baudelaire parents died in a fire while Count Olaf is trying to steal their fortune. They escaped Count Olaf and got to safety for a little. They learned that bad things happen to good people too.

Malcolm Gladwell, like many other authors of opinion-based pieces of literature, uses this theory as a method of persuasion. Gladwell’s “What the Dog Saw” uses this theory as a method of persuasion.

In the book Middle School: Dog’s Best Friend, I have sympathy for Jamie Grimm, the story’s main character/protagonist, for the major disability he has. Jamie is crippled from a car accident from when he was younger. While in the rehabilitation center, Jamie grew a vast sense of humor and many of the other residents at the rehabilitation center enjoyed. Jamie is hilarious and unpredictable. One time he is seen joking about the government, then next thing he is joking about his disabilities.

In the story The Landlady, the lady does not want Billy, the main character, to know about how crazy she is and she does not want Billy to know she is a killer. Although Billy didn't know, the landlady is a serial killer.
