Bhagavad Gita Quote Analysis

After reading the Bhagavad Gita in its entirety, the book has a very spiritual feel to it, it seems to relate closely with Hinduism. The book seems to incorporate and encompassed many things human beings deal with here on Earth. It consists of eighteen different teachings. Throughout many of the chapters or teachings, a vast amount, seemed to closely relate to things or ideas or concepts in which we humans can relate to. I want to talk about a few quotes that I came across in the teachings, that stuck out to me and caught my eye, because these quotes in which I came across, I could’ve closely related to them or had a sense of relation to these quotes. Does that mean that if one is not acting or performing an action, means you are dead? Yes, I believe if one is not performing an action or actions, I can quite comfortably say one is dead. We as humans are made to act and react everything millisecond of every living day we have here on Earth. I sincerely agree with the beginning of the quote, “no one exists for even an instant without performing action.” If you take it literally, it is impossible for one to exist without performing an action; walking, breathing, typing, eating, is an action. So if one was to take the meaning literally, yes it is impossible to exist without performing an action. Now getting to the other half of the quote; “every being is forced to act by the qualities of nature.” If we are speaking about the era in which this book takes place, these actions that humans took and the acts they performed were in the sense of war. Speaking present day, these “qualities of nature” are modern day society to me. My example would be college students, we as students want to achieve the best possible grade in our classes. In high school, the idea of college scared us. We all wanted to attend our “dream” university, knowing, the only way to get into our dream school, was to work hard, study hard and get great grades.
