1. There are two way to look at the creation accounts, since no theory has concrete evidence showing that the creation accounts differ or are exactly the same. Some similarities that can be seen between these two accounts is that they both start with a summary. For instance in the first verses of Genesis it says, “In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth. The earth was without form and void, and darkness was over the face of the deep (1:1,2).” This is showing that God is going to create the “heavens and the earth” in this chapter. In chapter two, it starts with “These are the generations of the heavens and the earth when they were created, in the day …show more content…

Some people say that chapter two has the creation account in a different order. Instead of creation being in plants, animals, man order (like in chapter 1), it is in man, plants, animals order which in my reading, and I don’t see evidence backing this theory up. Genesis 2:5 is sometimes used to make this case but it reads “…no small plant of the field had yet sprung up-for the LORD God had not caused it to rain on the land, and there was no man to work the ground…” which shows me that the reason the plants weren’t in the land wasn’t because they weren’t created yet, rather it’s because man wasn’t yet created to irrigate the land. Also, in verse eight of chapter two, it says that “God planted a garden in Eden” which doesn’t sound like “the creation of plants” to me, rather God just putting a garden for Adam to care for. Lastly, in 2:19 (which is an argument for referencing the creation of animals) it says “now out of the ground the LORD God had formed every beast of the field and every bird of the heavens and brought them to the man…” This verse is in the context of God trying to find a helper fit for man, so I think it is saying that since man had been formed (past tense) out of the ground and the animals had been formed (past tense) out of the ground, they might be similar enough to be “partnered up” …show more content…

It is very hard to compare the sin committed in Genesis 3 to Cain’s sin unless one really tries to connect the two without using biblical evidence, they are two completely different sins. Adam and Eve’s sin was not following the rules given for living in the Garden of Eden and eating from the tree that was banned. While Cain’s sin was killing his brother out of jealousy. The only real similarity is both tried to hide their sin after it was committed. Adam and Eve literally hid from God because they had realized what they had done but Cain tried to lie his way out of what he did (which isn’t very smart when talking to the God of all creation). We see that in both outcomes sinning and then trying to hide it from God always ends
