This annotated bibliography is to inform people how poverty in America affects the education of students. We should not let this affect why our education system is failing, because education should be the student’s way out of poverty, it is a way of fighting it. We as teachers help them better themselves to live a better lifestyle and encourage them to want to get out of the poverty. We as teacher are here to remind them and support them as they succeed along their journey of fighting poverty.

In this article written by Jared Barenstien is asking us the reader if education is the cure for poverty here in America. Barenstien listed how much of a difference in salary is made between a high school dropout and high schooled with an diploma. In the paper it list each issue and giving a very detailed piece of information on how that specific issue is affected by poverty. No matter what poverty affects we as teacher need to create a safe environment for the students. Teachers need to stay motivated to learn and show the students the “demand and rewards” of schooling. Poverty should never be an excuse for a child to not be able to succeed. For students that struggle with poverty education needs to be their way out of it. The way the students will be able to get out of the poverty would be with the proper highly qualified teacher.
