Bill Gates, World’s Richest Man
Bill Henry Gates the III was born in the autumn of 1955. His family who stayed in Seattle, Washington were relatively wealthy and had enough money to support Bill. Bill went to lakeside school and was very interested in coding and computers. When Gates was young he would spend hours looking at dictionaries and encyclopedias. In the computer lab he taught himself different coding languages such as BASIC. He used his skills to create games where people could play against the computer and other simple programs. Gates progressed from Lakeside in 1973 and scored an almost perfect score on his SATS. The CEO asked for a demonstration of a program, Gates over a couple months developed the software but had no time to test it on the Altair but, with Gates’ hard work the program worked flawlessly when tested at the demonstration and Microsoft was contracted to work for MITS. After this he went on to create MS-DOS, arguably one of the most influential pieces of software ever developed that also has shaped the computer market today. MITS was sold to a new holder. The previous owner gave the business up to become a doctor. Microsoft had to take the new owner of MITS to court to retain software rights. At this point Microsoft was independent of MITS and was working by themselves. Microsoft in the next few years became a global giant after creating numerous pieces of software used all around the globe, from ATMS to laptops, Microsoft was everywhere. Gates had a goal of becoming a millionaire by the age of 30, but by the age of 31 he was a billionaire. Microsoft continued to grow exponentially, and Gates net worth grew to a staggering $90,000,000,000.
