If available, some men survive off sympathetic relatives, girlfriends, and petty crimes such as selling items of value that they stole*. With this mentality, the youth of these generations will commit more crimes then society has anticipated.

As society progresses, the cycle continues to be a constant repetition as generations come. According to research and statistics, 9 out of 10 black children often grow up in horrible and terrifying urban neighborhoods, marketed by poor stability and concentrated poverty which serves disadvantages and crime (reword/enhance)*. As a male, especially those of color, not being to contribute to the economy to support their families and themselves, only intensifies their present inability to participate in the ideal two-parent led household*. When the male decides to depart and is incarcerated, it creates a single-parent household(reword/enhance)*. Formerly disconnected youth and adults, as well as these occasionally incarcerated, face barriers to obtaining a job, making it difficult to maintain a healthy and manageable livelihood*. In addition, having a criminal background, the barriers also consist of substance abuse, mental and overall health issues, poor parenting skills, and having a limited education, whether it be they lack a GED or high school diploma*. These men best lack the skills needed for employment and are functionally illiterate, making it difficult to communicate and participate in society effectively.
