Friendship is a strong bond. Throughout Of Mice and Men, Steinbeck shows the bond of a friendship with Lennie and George, and the old man and his dog. In chapter 1, Friendship is a strong bond is introduced by when George and Lennie were sitting down and eating beans, George says, “Well, look.Lennie if you jus’ happen to get in trouble like you always done before, I want you to come right here an’ hide in the brush ‘till I come for you.” Their friendship bond is strong enough that even if Lennie got in trouble, George will come back for him and they could continue on to the next farm.
