You may think about how to fight indifference or maybe you don’t. Either way there is a responsible way to help solve indifference. I think in the face of indifference the responsible way to approach indifference is to take your time researching and not spreading false information and taking action. Having the correct research will increase your ethos which is a good thing to have.
We read the book called Night written by Elie Wiesel. Elie Wiesel is a Holocaust Survivor and a Nobel Peace Prize winner. The book is about a holocaust survivor and all the things he had to endure. The men he took five unarmed men and boys believed to have slaves and brutally murdered them. After that Brown, raided Missouri freeing eleven slaves and killing the slave owner. John Brown believed that Slavery was wrong, so he took an approach of killing slave owners. He took action but it wasn’t responsible, he did it in a way that could and would quickly create more issues. In 1859 John Brown, under the alias Isaac Smith, rented a Kentucky Farmhouse. At the Farm John Brown trained 21 men in his army and planned their capture of the Federal Arsenal at Harpers Ferry. John Brown not only created his own army, but he was also giving slaves rifles and pikes. He did this hoping that the slaves would join his army and free more slaves. He also hoped that this would scare the slave owners. When it came time for his army to fight the slaves never showed up. The first innocent person to die was a free black man. John Brown was later convicted of murder, inciting slave insurrection, and treason against the state of Virginia. While John Brown took action, he didn’t do it responsibly he got an innocent man killed he had the right idea of getting rid of slavery, but he did it the wrong way and ended up in getting arrested for so much he did.
