The book Night is about a twelve-year-old boy that grew up in Transylvania which is a small town. Elie studied Talmud but he wanted to learn Kabbalah. His father found out that the Nazi got control over Hungary. The Nazi’s started to evacuate the Jews out of Transylvania, and started loading them all into the cattle cars.
In the book Night, the author describes his life being a prisoner for the Nazis. In this book, we are described with how Eli survived and what he and his father went through. We learn about how the prisoners were treated in the concentration camps. In the next two paragraphs, I will be sharing my opinion on what I think are the two most terrifying experiences the author, Eli, had to endure.
The Holocaust was a very traumatic event for everyone who experienced it and those who came after, and it gave many people experience, trauma, and disorders that they should never have had. Those of us who did not personally experience the pain will never know what those Jews went through in those camps, but Maus and Night share the experiences and horrors that millions of Jews had to live through. Maus is a survivor tale that tells the author, Artie Speigelmen’s father’s experiences in the Holocaust and his retelling through a graphic novel. Night is an autobiography written by Elie Wiesel that recounts the experiences of a teenager in a concentration camp during the Holocaust. Some of the survivors became obsessive or paranoid, and others
Night By Elie Wiesel Through his rough time at the concentration camp Elie did his best to keep his hope up. During the book Elie showed hope that kept him motivated to stay alive. In Night by Elie Wiesel it shows hopes keeps the spirit of motivation to stay alive when he was trapped under bodies, kept running/walking to the concentration camp, and keeping his dad alive. Hope was shown when Elie was trapped under bodies; he was motivated by hope to survive. In the book he said “ I succeeded to digging a hole in the wall of dead and dying people , a small hole through which I could drink a little air.”
In the years of the holocaust millions of people died. Including those of war prisoners and Jewish citizens. Several concentration camps were to blame because of this. Even though most did not live to the liberation there were a few lucky ones who survived and lived to tell about their experiences. Elie Wiesel spent his childhood in Auschwitz concentration camp, surrounded by death and misery, but managed to keep his head up and persevere through it.
Never Give Up Troublesome times challenge us all, but we just work through it. Occasionally, you might feel the urge to give up, but you persist and get to see the reward on the other side. Eliezer Wiesel went through an extremely tough time in concentration camps ran by the Nazis. “Night” is the book that he wrote about his poignant experiences in the holocaust.
“If we held a minute of silence for everyone that lost their life in the Holocaust, we would be silent for eleven years” - Unkown. Elie Wiesel decided to write about his experiences during the Holocaust resulting in the book Night. Elie was one of 11 million people that were targeted. From 1933 to 1945 millions of Jewish people were dehumanized and treated like everything but a human being. After the Holocaust, it was discovered that 6 million Jews were killed.
After facing a few years of trials and tribulations, Elie Wiesel was able to survive those hard times and live to speak about it in Night; his autobiography, which described his life over a time of nearly two years in concentration camps and life on his very own hell on earth. Night goes into depth about Elie’s experience in the concentration camps; Auschwitz and Buna where not only does he lose his family, but figuratively himself, God, and hope for humanity. Miraculously, Elie survived the persecution and genocide of the Jews during the Holocaust, but sadly his conscious and faith did not. Elie had to witness and faced obstacles that were never meant or suitable for a boy his age and that drastically changed his mindset and outlook on life.
Though there has been many survivors of the Holocaust and the Rwanda Genocide, They are shallow numbers compared to the death tolls. One survivor of the Holocaust is Elie Weisel. Some time after the Holocaust, he wrote a book(Night) about his time there. One survivor of the Rwanda Genocide is Valentina. She has shared her stories of survival with others, to show that you can survive any challenge if you keep fighting the odds.
In the book Night Eliezer came face to face to some of his greatest fears, separating with his family, didn’t know where they were going but all at once he felt changed. He didn’t feel like God was with him, he felt as if he vanished. They go to many concentration camps and work many hours, go through tons of selections, train trip, and running miles a day. Your time at the camp is either life or death swaying back and forth. “Never shall I forget those moments that murdered my God and my soul that turned my dreams to ashes.”
In class we read the nonfiction book, Night by Elie Wiesel. It is a story about Elie, as a young teen, being a victim of the Holocaust and the gruesome situations he been in. In the book Elie says, “The world is not interested in us” (Wiesel 33). I believe that this statement is true. The world did not do anything to save the Jewish people and just observed them being treated like objects.
For the dead and the living we must all bear witness” -Elie Wiesel. Those are the words of a brilliant survivor of the Holocaust. He is saying that we all go through something awful, but everyone need to go through something hard to feel fulfilled. April 11, 20,000 inmates were still inside the camp. At six o’clock American tanks came to the gates to fight for the Jews’ freedom.
I, one of people that read the book; Night by Elie Wiesel, would like to share some opinions that I have for the book that I read. Before that, we should know what the book; Night is about. This book is a writing of one of the survivors from the Holocaust, World War II. The beginning of the story take place in Sighet, Transylvania in 1941. The author superbly expresses the feelings that he felt during the dark age of this world that he experienced through his writing.
