This paper explores personal understanding rather breastfeeding in public is morally justified. It captures the reaction of two males who witness the act of breastfeeding in a public place. It expresses detail of a young student returning to college who bares her breast in public setting while two males looking on as she feeds her nursing child. Her name is Jessica, who chosen breastfeeding over bottle feeding in this case study. Her action of breastfeeding in public creates a position that’s uncomfortable and possibly uncalled-for for two male students. The overall health of the mother benefits from breastfeeding just the same. There are in fact several states that have legalized breastfeeding either in public, private locations, and the workplace. “Georgia, the state in which I reside provides the mother the means to breastfeed in any public, private location, and the workplace. However, not all states support this neither is all nursing situation straightforward- several mothers have to deal with situations such as nursing while working full time, attending classes, and simply due to the special needs of the child. A law which provides sufficient time for the mother to do so is understandable “in a private setting, unfortunately, does not morally defend the act of breastfeeding in public. Many mothers struggle with issues just as those listed above; therefore another method- Breast pump can be used. A breast pump allows the nursing mother to pump and store her breast milk until needed, therefore regardless of her situation the mother can carry on with her duties to provide the child with breast milk. Today’s woman tends to be more old-fashioned to how they distribute their breast milk. It doesn’t excuse the use of cover-up while doing so. But should I witness remarks of someone targeted at the nursing mother. I would take the position not to defend, but educate them regardless of personal view which I believe it’s more morally expected than
