If refrigerating your breast milk place the time and date you pumped so that you will know when it is expired after twenty four hours. If you decide to freeze your breast milk it will stay good up to six months so date the container so you know when it was pump and when it will expire. Once you have thawed the milk from the freezer your milk will be good for twenty four hours once placed into the refrigerator. When you warm a bottle of your breast milk for your baby under hot water you will want to check the clock so that the milk is only out for an hour if your baby does not finish the milk within that hour you will want to dispose of the breast milk. Do not heat or thaw the breast milk in the microwave because it will kill all of the protein in the breast milk that is good for your baby.
