I am writing you in regards to a reoccurring issue going on in the vicinity: Breastfeeding in public. I am very well aware that your day consists of other important controversial things happening out there, but I could not allow myself to continue another day without stressing to you why the law banning breastfeeding in public can not be passed! There are people around, protesting to ban mother’s right to breastfeed in public. They have completely crossed the line, trying to make a natural thing into a huge riot. It needs to be addressed and should not effect the current law. As a mother of a six-month old baby, I am for breastfeeding in public for many reasons. Some of the reasons being, it really allows a mother and child to have a close bond. This is extremely important and critical in the early stages of being a parent. Breastfeeding gives the child a feeling of comfort and nurturing. A mother should always be able to experience this whether it is in public or not. Breastfeeding is the easiest and most convenient way for a mother to feed her child. Breasts were made to produce milk to feed your child with, not to be flaunted or intended for sex. Breasts are all over the world, in the most public places ever. They are being revealed on billboards, in television, social media, etc. yet no one is protesting against it nor has an issue with it. Ironic how if a child needs to eat in front of people, all of the sudden it is the end of world, and disgusting. A child has a hard enough time trying to latch onto a mother, let alone trying to do so, with a cover blocking their view/ability.
