No doubt, there is an imaginary line dividing Afghan society, how do Amir and Hassan show these divisions and how does this affect their lives? There were many scars that existed in the novel: Amir’s crushed bones, Ali’s leg, Hassan’s lip, Assef’s eye and Soraya’s birthmark. Why did Khalid Hosseini decide to implement so many scars in the novel? Can these scars have a deeper meaning?
