In the TV series Buffy the Vampire Slayer, the tenth episode of season four “Hush”, was the most interesting one. “Hush” is one of the top episodes in Buffy the Vampire Slayer, also being one of the scariest episodes on TV. It was also the highest rated episode of season 4. Buffy is a popular series in the entertainment business and is considered as one of the best shows in TV history. The show too received an Emmy nomination due to it’s their scary episodes. The show itself demonstrates many literary characteristics but the show tends to be prominent in its usage of theme. In the episode “Hush” the main focus is that talking does not have to be the only way to either communicate or express feelings toward someone. Riley Finn and Buffy Summers are two characters in the episode “Hush” that are having communication problems with each other. In the beginning of the episode when Buffy and Riley have their voices they have difficulties communicating. Once their voices are taken away they both have a better experience communicating when fighting the monsters called the “Gentlemen”. Xander Harris and Anya Jenkins are two other characters who are experiencing relationship issues due to lack of communication. Anya says that Xander is not committed to the relationship and he sees her as just another girl he is with. When Xander thinks Anya is in trouble he puts his life at risk fighting a vampire to protect her. Anya thinks that Xander is not committed, because they both have trouble communicating and expressing their feelings toward each other. When Xander fights Spike to protect Anya this demonstrates that Xander cares about Anya and they both express their feelings in silence.
