The country is currently undergoing a significant transformation, with the emergence of technology, entrepreneurs, and global networks. This has opened a range of strategic choices for businesses looking to invest in the country. After visiting the country in the last decade and seeing the potential it has to offer, venture capitalists are now deciding if they should be one of the first to enter this largely unexploited market (Aidrus & Bird, n.d). Furthermore, ePlanet needs to decide if they are offering products and services like those found in the West. The US venture capital community saw this as a viable opportunity to replicate successful Western technologies in Pakistan, which is the world's sixth-most populous country with a growing middle class that desires such products and services as satellite TV and the Internet (Aidrus & Bird, n.d).
The advantages of investing in businesses operating in Pakistan are numerous.
