For the assessment blueprint, I will be discussing 4 different L.T. (Learning Targets) and describe what the assessment items are and how the items will be giving my students based on a story called The Lion and the Mouse. L.T #1 allows students to practice vocabulary and create their own sentences to describe the illustrations in the text. L.T. #2 is sorting and determining the order of events using their descriptions or the illustrations in the book.
Problem/Need: The FFA camp for our FFA district has been hosted for many years. Every year FFA students from our FFA district attend this camp. Its purpose is to help students establish leadership qualities and allows them to interact with new people. They have recently contacted FFA advisors from the district asking for donations for a new charcoal grill.
Merryweather High from Laurie Halse Anderson’s Speak is a school under poor management. The staff in charge doesn’t care much about the school, its property, or its teachers. The students that need extra help, I will work in small groups with each student while the other students work independently on the letter of the week. Children will be for pictures that start with the letter of the week out of books or drawing picture to go with the letter. I will work with student that need extra help and the ELL students on the correct way to pronounce the sounds of the letters. I did not conduct any “research”, and therefore did not need any IRB approval or special certificates in order to accomplish any of the goals that had been set forth for my internship. Recruitment of the population, while not necessary, was conducted through the behavioral health building at the VA. Potential participants were given a flyer to look over, and if interested were referred to the program through their case manager. Potential eligibility was determined by behavioral health personnel at the VA. Only those individuals characterized as having severe mental illnesses (SMI’s) were looked at as potential participants, as these are the types of individuals for whom the camp is geared towards.

Classroom management is the process by which teachers and schools create and maintain appropriate behavior of students in classroom settings. When classroom-management strategies are executed effectively, teachers minimize the behaviors that impede learning for both individual students and groups of students, while maximizing the behaviors that facilitate or enhance learning. Classroom management is really hard and there are many theorists that talk about it and each is different from the other where each theorist has his/her own ideas and thoughts. Among all those models this assignment is focused on Robert Gagne’s instructional design model. According to Robert Gagne’s (1985) there are nine steps for an effective learning process. First thing is gaining attention through a story, problem or a new situation. This will help to involve students in the learning process. After that share the lesson objectives with the students to make sure that they are aware of what they are going to achieve from today’s lesson and why are they learning this.

Classroom management is directly tied to the level of students’ involvement and academic achievement (Kirk, 2010). Behavior management focuses on decreasing the amount of time students display disruptive behaviors so students can achieve academically. There are three effective strategies for effective classroom management. They include, proactive classroom management through praise, consistent consequences and punishments, and positive interaction between teacher and students (Kirk, 2010). Teachers teach students their behavior expectations by teaching them to follow a set of specific rules so they are aware of their expectations in the classroom.
Due to indiscipline situation students arrive late for class, are not punctual for the classes or simply bunk classes as the class is not very interesting or rather as a teacher we are unable to create interest in the class .This may be a result of lack of lesson planning .At times effective management of time is also overlooked. Non verbal cues like body language and communication skills also play a major role in making the class effective. Problems of Classroom Management can be overcome by being prepared for class, motivating the students, providing a comfortable learning environment, building students’ self esteem, being creative and imaginative in daily lessons. A teacher should not carry personal problems to the class by being impulsive.
