The struggles on the battlefield such as extreme weather, loss of supply of wood and building the railroads caused major hardships for the 209th infantry. My group for the 209tH Amendment had Chapter 3, which was “A Winter in the Army of the Potomac.” History on the 209th regiment is they were made up of volunteers that were willing to fight for them in war. On November 24th which is where it takes place in Chapter 3 is the regiment was transferred with other Pennsylvania regiments from the Army of the James to the army of the Potomac.

From population booms to a better economy, it was all because of a single oil well in Texas. One chilly morning in 1901, a group of men were about to give up on finding oil until, BOOM! , oil came shooting out. The once poor men had now became millionaires overnight. After this day, wildcatters traveled all around Texas for black gold.
One cold January day on the hill Spindletop, the discovery of a black, thick liquid changed the future of Texas. In January of 1901, oil was stumbled on in Texas. In the beginning of the discovery, the profit went to the Easterners, then it changed. Wildcatters, who were investors that put their money into oil rigs, spread across the state and placed oil rigs everywhere. During this time it was rare to get very rich off of oil because of the dry holes and loss of money.
The great California gold rush began on January 24, 1848. News of Marshall’s discovery brought thousands of immigrants to California from elsewhere in the United States and from all over the world. For example, as of San Francisco, population significantly raised over 20,000 by 1850.
Carver Hawkeye Arena is a more grand experience during wrestling because wrestling is a lot better to watch opposed to football, my opinion though. I love everything about wrestling, I love the coaching style at Iowa, and they way the wrestlers at Iowa always stay so humble. If you go to a meet and you hear Terry screaming way to loud and jumping around like a panzi don’t worry its normal.
Miracle on Ice happed on February 22, 1980. It is when team USA defeated the Soviet Union in the semi-final men’s ice hockey game during the winter Olympics. It took place in lake placid, New York and would be one of the biggest and most important games America has played during the winter Olympics. It is called the Miracle on ice because the USA hockey team had to defeat the mighty Soviet Union amateur team, which was not an amateur team, but a team filled of professional athletes, while the Americas hockey team was college students. The Miracle on ice sent shock waves throughout the world, and it had such an impact on America that the was a movie made after the hockey game played on February 22nd, 1980.

Ever wonder how one of the most famous sporting events began? Well, I am going to tell you how the First World Championship began. It began when two rival football companies, AFL and NFL fought to win the name as the best. Then, the AFL and NFL league had a football game to see who would be the best. Eventually, they signed a contract saying that they would merge together to become one and they would use NFL names and all of NFL and AFL teams.

The Impact of Jazz on Canada in the 20th Century Though not an entirely Canadian concept, jazz had a significant impact in Canada in the years 1918-1950. Early jazz music in Canada was dependent on touring artists from American cities, who would occasionally perform in cities near the border.n Canada, jazz music was still in its infancy, whereas jazz was “born” in 1895 in the US. Jelly Roll Morton was one of the first Americans to tour in Canada, performing in Vancouver cabarets from 1919-1921. The genre made its way into Winnipeg, Toronto, Vancouver and Montreal independently, each city having their own scene.
When everything was finished and Texas’s economy stabilized there was a great surprise that arrived January 1, 1901. It was the discovery of oil at Spindle top. This certain event greatly advanced Texas’s standing in the American economy and it altered the states citizens even more so than the railroad system.
