• These particles are much smaller than the distance between particles, therefore the volume of a gas is mostly empty space and the volume of the gas molecule themselves is negligible. • There is no force of attraction between gas particles or between the particles and the walls of the container. • Collisions between
The Gummy Bear experiment illustrates osmosis, a type of diffusion involving the movement of water molecules through a semi-permeable membrane. The gummy bear represents the semi-permeable membrane. The area inside of the gummy bear had a higher solute concentration than the area outside of the gummy bear, so the water was moving. In situations like this, water tries to move from an area of high water concentration (or low solute concentration) to an area of low water concentration (or high solute concentration). The water moves around until it achieves an equilibrium.
Oxygen was being consumed and carbon dioxide was being released because the water level in test tube “G” continued to

This lab’s end result was to correctly identify each unknown solution using prior knowledge of chemical properties and the results of the first experiment conducted. Unknown solution D was the only colored solution, being blue while the others were clear. This made it easy to then match D up to Copper Sulfate because of its color. As unknown A and B were added together, lots of gaseous bubbles formed and revealed the fact that that reaction was the reaction between Hydrochloric Acid and Sodium Carbonate because it was the only reaction that produced a gas release. Unknown A and C produced the only yellow, brown precipitate just as the reaction between Sodium Carbonate and Silver Nitrate had previously.
As my experiment, I tested 4 students by giving two of the four students a piece of spearmint gum and two students no gum during the test. The students with the gum both averaged a 97. Georgia scoring and 97, and Chloe also scoring a 97. The students who did not have a piece of gum during the test both averaged a 94. Emma scored a 100 and Mackenzie scored an 88.
James Patterson is the author of the Maximum Ride series. The Angel Experiment, the first book, is an uncommon mix of science fiction and fantasy. The story revolves around the members of the Flock trying to save the abducted, Angel and trying to find the Institute. The Angel Experiment began at the house on top of the hill where Jeb and the Flock lived.
Sammy clearly exhibits a lack of respect for his elders, judges everyone who walks into the store, and blatantly makes sexist remarks about the three girls. He focuses on their bodies rather than their personalities and views them only as objects. “A little buzz like a bee in a glass jar” seems to describe Queenie’s thought process for Sammy; however he makes this narcissistic judgment before getting to know her (Updike). This culmination leads to Sammy’s immaturity which results in him quitting his job. By the remarks made throughout the story, the readers are lead to believe that Sammy does want more out of his life than a clerk job at a store and he has the desire to move up the socio- economic ladder.
Alicia Suskin Ostriker's, “The Window, at the Moment of Flame” and Jack Gilbert's Michiko Dead” are poems that connect to the reader to deliver different, yet powerful and complex themes. There are different thematic statements that really bring out the author's strong feelings behind what many may think the thematic concepts says. “The Window, at the Moment of Flame” was written two weeks after 9/11 showing a glimpse of what it means to be an innocent American in a world wracked by violence. Ostriker says she was trying to "mostly tap a sense of looking on helplessly at human madness"(Friday Pick). Her poem is written in the first person point-of-view and we see directly into a child’s mind in the first line, and as the distance increases
The three qualities that Angela Carter’s wolf stories have in common is women are subject patriarchal judgment and abuse by man. Also they all come from a certain fairy tale or have a base off the farm tale Little Red Riding Hood. Finally there seem to be a lot of supernatural and or mentally unstable person or figure in all of her stories. The text in these series does lead me to believe that this author suffered from type of abuse in her later years as a woman, and it shows in her stories. Patriarchal judgment and abuse, seems to be an ongoing theme in her stories.
If you are beginning a business selling candles because you simply love making them or you want to cash in on the American public's love of them during the fall and winter seasons, then be sure to make sure your candles meet all federal safety regulations. Once important way to comply with laws is to include the appropriate warning label on every candle you sell. This information not only helps keep consumers safe, but it helps protect you from potential lawsuits in the future if one of your candles is used inappropriately and starts a fire. Here is a guide to the labels you need to comply with US FTC guidelines. 1.
Auggie had a positive experience at school because he got smarter and made new friends. An example of this is Jack and Auggie’s spud lamp science fair project. Jack and Auggie got an A on the project, and Jack was “psyched” because it was the only A he had gotten all year. This shows that Auggie can learn and do things like normal kids. This also made Jack and Auggie closer friends.
so when the water reaches boiling point, the steam makes contact with the thermostat, causing it to flex in the opposite direction, which in effect pushes a lever that cuts the circuit and switches off the kettle
Demonstration Analysis I recently did my demonstration speech on how to make a lava lamp. In my opinion the speech went very well. The specific purpose of my presentation was for my classmates to be able to make their own lava lamp to help them take care of kids they have to babysit. I believe I did a very good job at explaining the procedure of making a lava lamp step by step.
Introduction: This lab report discusses an experiment to study the difference in the burn rate of various colored candles. The objective of this experiment is to analyse the outcome of burning 5 different colored candles including white under the same control variable for 60 minutes. The white candles used in this experiment are pure and no chemicals or dyes are added to it. They are normally made from paraffin wax with a wick in the middle.
