For those that believe in the Meyers Briggs personality type test. As a radiology technician with an ISFJ personality type challenges can occur while working. ISFJ’s are known as being very hardworking, loyal, protective, reliable, and unselfish people. Some demands required to be successful in this job as a radiology technician is he or she needs to be patient, caring, and hardworking. Being an ISFJ personality type while working as a radiology technician, certain traits will cause challenges while working so this person will need to overcome a few challenges to be successful. ISFJ’s are known to being one of the most unselfish and caring people, and are also the people that will get taken advantage of by other employees. Although having a caring and unselfish personality can help this person to become successful in this job it can also cause future problems. Like Teshome Mulisa says in her article, “Respect for patients needs and wishes is central to any humane health care system” (2). Which goes to show that a person with an ISFJ personality will help them to become successful when dealing with patients. As for when it comes to working with employees, it is not as good to be unselfish toward them. This will need to be addressed, because this person will then be taken advantage of and will lead to negative things, making it harder for this person to become successful in this job. A person that gets taken advantage of can lead them to feeling negative emotions, affecting how well they perform on the job. Stress can be caused by many things, especially if this person is an ISFJ personality type. They are known to being hard workers and not to procrastinate which can eventually lead to stress. Anthony Chukwuka says in his article, “Stress experienced by radiographers can reduce patient’s care and may possibly trigger psychological conflicts in the individual (radiographer), which concomitantly grinds efficiency in service delivery” (3). Which goes to show that stress is a negative factor and can lead this person to become unsuccessful. Not performing highly and effectively due to stress can put the worker and the patient at risk which is why a radiologist with an ISFJ personality type will need to become aware of this possible negative effect.
