Reflection Paper: AIS 3001 Mid-Collegiate Bridging I registered for this course as a direct result of the required course curriculum requirements for the Bachelor of Technical and Applied Science. I honestly had no idea what the course would offer however, I was pleasantly surprised. During Mid-Collegiate Bridging, I have been given many opportunities to expand my educational skills. I became familiar with the Canvas platform navigational tools and was re-introduced to the online library resources. I was instructed on the use of WordPress. I gained knowledge about my personality, my skill set, and how to achieve “SMART” goals. At this time, I also learned that the University of Cincinnati has multiple ways to access materials such as using the Catalyst website, and also the University website. I earned a better understanding of the BTAS program and how to navigate through the program. In addition, I was given outside resources and tools to aid me in my learning process. Module 2 acquainted me with the WordPress E-Portfolio. I found this quite challenging, as I had not ever worked with an online platform such as this previously. I was taught how to navigate through the E-Portfolio using the menu and pages to make a professional webpage. Although it was challenging, I was able to accomplish the goal put before me. If I had this to do over again, I might consider a class in the software before diving into the unknown. Module 3 introduced new challenges to WordPress, I now would be designing within my WordPress to create customized menus that are user-friendly to future visitors. In addition, I was allowed to customize my website into a platform with a design that reflects my personality. I was able to test my personality type with the Myers-Briggs personality test and many other online testing sites. I found this to be very telling. I had no idea so many personality tests were readily available and only took minutes. I learned about the categories of personalities and that you can and do change your personality type over time. My personality type is an ENFJ, this surprisingly is a precise fit. I have always felt like I knew who I was but taking these tests gives me insight into who I am and what type of jobs are a good fit for my personality type. One of the items that I had never considered about myself is that I am expressive and logical. I don’t necessarily agree with the logical aspect, as I feel I am more of a spontaneous person. I also really enjoyed finding out about my personality twins. One of my twins I am most proud of is Martin Luther King, he is such an important part of our history.
