Currently, the nonprofit helps and serves 92, 351 military veterans and 20,238 military family members gain access to four programs, mind, body, economic empowerment and encouragement. (Who We Serve, 2916) Weakness: Documents have shown that only 60% of the funds that have been donated have been used on the veterans in need. But the conclusion where the money is heading is similar to what happens in the real world; lots of these donations are spent on useless unimaginative building projects. Usually building projects like this often lead to an embezzlement of funds or some other type of high- level corruption. But we often turn
Good morning/afternoon Mrs Jansen, Mr Cralwey and class. Prime Minister and human rights advocate, Gough Whitlam, led government into labour during his term from December 5 1972 until his dismissal on December 11 1975. He went on to change Australia through a wide-ranging reform program. He especially influenced society alongside his endless supply of boldness and tenacity, not to mention his aspiration to lead the nation into good hands. Introducing indigenous rights and abolishing discrimination was one of the many legislations Whitlam put forward.
NBB gave back to communities through event sponsorships, corporate giving, and philanthropic involvement (Ferrell, Fraedrich & Ferrell, pp.440). Not to mention, NBB donates $1 for every barrel of beer that they produced to non-profit organizations, employees are paid for their community service work, and they give about 9% of their profits to charity (bcorporation.net, 2015). David Edger, former director of the Institute for Brewing Studies, states, “…members of society do not believe a company whose major products is alcohol can be socially responsible, New Belgium set out to prove that for those who make choice to drink responsibly…will do everything possible to contribute to society” (Ferrell, Fraedrich & Ferrell, pp. 441). Our group believes that they have proven that they are serious about being a socially responsible
Attracting applicants from all levels of society including the working poor and single parents, recruiting talented workers who are satisfied and motivated has the potential to lead to higher productivity and greater retention (Green, Lopez, Wysocki, Kepner, Farnsworth, & Clark, 2015). Bob’s boat corporation’s current financial position based on its accumulated earnings and profits (E&P) of $3,000,000 and the belief that the current year will reflect profits of $800,000 before taxes justifies a cash or property dividend to the shareholders/employee’s. Bob is contemplating paying $10,000.00 to each of the twelve shareholders/employees or giving each a new boat that cost the company $10,000.00 but retails at $15,000.00. (which is considered a reasonable price by most consumers and deemed the fair market value (FMV)). However, the distributions will cause the receivers to possibly incur additional taxation such as net investment income tax and other hardships contingent on their personal tax bracket. Additionally, the corporation will need to pay tax on a possible distribution and recognize a gain on each of the twelve boats.
By the end of the financial year of 2012, it was estimated that Billabong lost $536M. 158 stores have vanished, 75% of its suppliers and 15% of its European staff have gone which forced the industry to sign a $386M deal with Oaktree Capital Management and Centerbridge Partners. Billabong's investment in their retail stores is the reason why they have managed to become a worldwide brand and generated a lot of profit. However, once their brand lost its footing, other competitors stepped into the Australian Market in an aim to overcome Billabong. As a result, market conditions became tougher and Billabong was eventually exposed to these conditions. In 2014, its revenue is valued at $1.34B. It's net income
Furthermore, Balfour Beatty also use bonuses for example I found that, Balfour Beatty earns 2 billion in profit last year, bonuses are given to project managers if the project is completed in the time frame this motivates the project managers to work harder and push to complete the work before the timeframe If they do this they get paid bonuses. This makes the employees work harder and finish the task as quick as possible because they will get more money which will motivate a lot of people. This also means the higher people responsible in the job will be under more pressure to complete the work on time with no injuries. Faye (2015) said that there are many financial bonuses that they can receive. These are substantial amounts of money.

2. Cape Town Project by HP In 2008, Hewlett Packard initiated a pilot project in Cape Town for successful E-waste management. Over a span of 10 months, they processed around 60 metric tons of electronic equipment. Inclusive workplaces that understand the needs of their employees and make them feel valued and respected have greater success in retaining staff. Having a range of policies and facilities in place to ensure that all employees are able to balance work with other aspects of their lives has a positive impact on job satisfaction, productivity and commitment. In contrast, in organisations where stereotypes persist and some groups of employees face barriers to success, these employees experience negative consequences on performance, health and wellbeing. Working teams that are diverse in their make-up are able to come up with a wider range of solutions to business problems. Inclusive workplaces that openly communicate their values and strategies on equality, human rights and inclusion are capitalising on this as they are able to attract a wider pool of applicants and talent.
