AN OVERVIEW The Membership Chairman plays an important role in Membership Recruitment. The Membership Chairman will plan and coordinate all activities related to the mutual selection process called Membership Recruitment. She ensures the chapter recruits and pledges high-quality women, achieves quota, pledges to Panhellenic total each year and follows the National Panhellenic Conference Unanimous Agreements and guidelines. ROLES: Serve as chairman of the Membership Committee to plan and coordinate all activities related to Membership Recruitment throughout the year. Work with and delegate to related committees. o Builds confidence, unifies the chapter, and sets the focus and direction for Membership Recruitment. o Works to ensure all potential new members meet the Chapter Membership Criteria defined by the chapter while maintaining confidentiality. o Handles any attendance or behavior issues with members as they occur throughout Membership Recruitment. • Vice President-Academic Excellence and the Academic Excellence Committee: o Guides the chapter in following academic procedures according to the Kappa Kappa Gamma Fraternity Bylaws and Standing Rules. o Requests for exceptions are referred to the Membership Specialist and may be granted in extraordinary cases only. See Academic Procedures for Membership Recruitment. • Recording Secretary: o Takes attendance before each membership selection session and as needed. o Works with the Membership Chairman to review recruitment-related policies in the chapter Bylaws. • Marshal: o Acts as facilitator during membership selection sessions and implements parliamentary procedure. • Panhellenic
